MINUTES – June 4, 2009 NCIHRA BOARD & MEMBER MEETING

7:02 - 8:51pm at No Co Ice Center, Windsor

  1. In Attendance: Marshall Flug, Mark Gembarowski, John Yunker, Justin McLarnon, Bryan Irey, Dan Van Arsdall, Luke Cyphers, Pal Bray, Nate Williams, Eric Sunness, Paul Bray, Roger Maddocks & Tommy Chmielewski
  2. Board Quorum: Yes
  3. State wide referee association: Bryan Irey commented that a committee is being developed by CAHA in cooperation with CIHRA and other referee associations around the state to work towards a single state referee board that will guide the one day state referee association.  Everything will be done by phone / webinar for the time being since traveling from the far corners of the state aren’t practical. 
  4. Game Fee’s for 09-10:  We’ll be incorporating our admin fee into the game fee’s for this coming season (ie.. $100 game + admin fee = $105 billed amount)
  5. Evaluation / Mentoring coordinator updates: Luke has been working with Gary Pedigo Sr.  to get a spreadsheet to track & monitor evals & mentoring positions.  Gary will send Luke the official USA eval guide and will help him in any way needed.
  6. Board Positions:

Ø      President (2 yr) 09/10 – 10/11 seasons

Ø      VP (2 yr) 08/09 – 09/10 seasons

Ø      Treasurer (1 yr) appointed by board – no membership vote needed

Ø      Secretary (2 yr) 09/10 – 10/11seasons

Ø      4 members at large (1 yr) all members need election for 09/10 season

  1. Elections: CIHRA (Ron) can & will support us on an online election.  All nominations should be made no later than July 1st.  Elections to be held August 1st – 15th.  IF, Ron can’t help us out then we’ll conduct our own email vote to our members with Mark & John counting the votes.  DV to run for president.
  2. Future of NCIHRA: DV to talk with Susan Schrock, Wayne Hoover (his CPA), SOS, IRS, etc… about NCIHRA status.  He’ll gather information and report back to the board about expenses & suggestions from the various counselors. 
  3. Budget:  Account balance is at $4403 as of 6/1/09.
  4.  Seminars: We’ll be asking CIHRA & State instructors staff to help with seminars this year.

Ø      Sept 12th – Level 2/3 @ Ice Haus in Greeley

Ø      Sept 13th – Level 1 & less experienced level 2’s @ NoCo in Windsor
