NEWS Items from October 21, 2004

Meeting was held at EPIC meeting room at 7:00 - 8:30 pm.

Gave away several whistles, laces, riot pads, and rule books to those present.

Decided that Pay Checks will Not be kept in the Officials Room. Checks are available at the Monthly Meeting and will then be held by the Treasurer. Everyone is encouraged to attend the meeting and pick up your check. Alternatively, you can provide a Legal Size Self Addressed and Stamped Envelope by leaving with the scoresheets at either rink. Then your pay check will get mailed a day or two following the Monthly meeting.

Reminder that if you did not pay your FCAIHRA Dues at one of the FCAIHRA local Seminars, then your Dues will be taken out of Pay Checks starting with October pay.

Reviewed Rule Differences for DNHL in-house league at EPIC

Reminder that a Notebook (3-ring binder) is in both Referee rooms with a lot of useful information for Officials. Sample Game Misconduct Reports, telephone numbers, Rules, Basic Manual, Evaluation Guide.

Reminder for 18 year olds and older to get their CAHA Registration completed. See the home web page for FCAIHRA or CIHRA for a link.

What is important to complete and make Readable on the Gold Copy of the Scoresheet. This is what you get paid from. Make sure all of the top reagrding the time, date, game, rink, Teams and Levels are very readable on the Gold Copy; and put it in the Referee room in the Folder. Also make certain all officials are listed and readable and identify the Refereee and Linesmen.

Reviewed Rule 601 and 601(a) and completing the progression of Stepping up the Ladder. This is the correct process in awarding a Game Misconduct.

Walking the Ladder: 2 minute - 10 minute Misconduct - Game Misconduct

Make certain that the 2 and 10 are Recorded on the game Scoresheet Before the Game Misconduct.
